Solar Panel Cleaning

Pollen, dust, and bird traffic sit between the sun and your panels. We take that layer off, safely.

You put panels up to make power. A film of pollen, road dust, and bird droppings does exactly one thing: block light before it reaches the cells. Rain rinses some of it, but rain doesn't scrub, and the grime at the panel edges builds all season.

Cleaning panels without hurting them

Panels are glass with electronics behind them, so they get the gentle treatment: purified water and soft equipment, never high pressure, never harsh chemicals that void a manufacturer's warranty.

Purified water matters here for the same reason it matters on windows: it dries spot-free, so you're not trading dirt for mineral film.

When to book it

Once a year is a sensible North Shore rhythm, timed for early summer so the panels run clean through the long-daylight months. It pairs naturally with a roof or window visit since the equipment's already up.

Questions

Solar Panel Cleaning FAQs

01 Is it safe to wash solar panels?

Done our way, yes: purified water, soft tools, no pressure. What's not safe is a pressure washer or a garden hose full of minerals, and we use neither.

02 How much output does cleaning actually recover?

It depends on how dirty the panels are, so we won't promise a number. What we can say honestly: light that hits grime instead of glass makes no power at all.

03 Can you reach roof-mounted arrays?

Yes. Roof work is our daily bread. If an array is somewhere genuinely unsafe to reach, we'll say so instead of improvising.

04 How often should panels be cleaned?

Annually for most homes here. If you're under heavy tree cover or near gravel roads, twice a year earns its keep.
